Learn about me…
I graduated with an MA in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Specialization, from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. My credentials include being Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) through Post Partum Support International (PSI) , and a Bringing Baby Home educator through the Gottman Institute and trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. I am weight neutral, work towards anti-racism, and an LGBTQIA affirming therapist. I support individuals and families to feel safe and empowered in their identity.
My experience is influenced by my completed fellowship and further courses at the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis, focusing on attachment and our biological drives for connection and safety, along with depth work into understanding our responses in relationships.
My focus as a licensed therapist is to help individuals and families who have experienced trauma, anxieties, and depression. I have found my passion by incorporating this lens on fertility, loss, pregnancy, postpartum and relationships. I believe we are innately designed to survive and sometimes our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are negatively enacted. My framework identifies that each person is doing the best they can in the moment and it is our job to investigate additional moments of resiliency and self-compassion to guide toward healing. I am an advocate for destigmatizing infertility, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), loss, and the changes these experiences have on our intimate relationships. As a person with PCOS, I created a running list of medical providers who are knowledgable and supportive.
For couples, I was deeply moved during my training of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) at the power of staying with each member of the couples emotions. I found myself connecting with creating safety and security for both members of the partnership with the goal of launching the couple toward supporting each other.
When it comes to working with children, I participated in the Child Parent Psychotherapy learning collaborative to support the processing of traumatic events and dysregulation in young children (0-6) with their families. In combination, assess through the Level 1 principles of Theraplay lens to provide support toward connection between children and their caregivers.
In my downtime, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new and old within the city and suburbs. Traveling to experience other cultures is also on my top list of enjoyment. When trying to relax, you may find me in a thai yoga massage or reading a hard copy of a quick thriller. I incorporate self-compassion and gentle movement into my daily life.
